1-Year Track vs. 2-Year Track
For students ready to commit to a demanding academic schedule, Dartmouth's MHA degree is attainable in 12 months
Two Paths, One MHA
The Dartmouth MHA is designed to provide flexibility to students through two different completion paths, the standard and accelerated tracks. Comprised of all the same coursework, the difference between the two tracks is the pace at which courses are delivered. Students must carefully consider which academic track they can accommodate, taking into consideration their professional goals, learning style, and other important commitments.
Standard Track: the convenience of a part-time MHA with the rigor of an Ivy League education
In the standard track, students will take one course at a time over 8 consecutive terms to complete their degree in 24 months. This track requires one live class session per week and approximately 16 hours per week of student engagement. Favored by students who wish to continue working in their current roles, this part-time MHA format allows them to apply their skills and knowledge gained throughout the program into their workplace in real-time.
Accelerated Track: an intensive path for those on a fast-track to advance their careers
Students in the accelerated track take two courses at a time, with two live class sessions per week, and complete their degree in 12 months. This rigorous course load requires students to commit to an academic engagement of approximately 32 hours per week. Built for students who have the capacity to take on a full-time academic workload, the accelerated track delivers the critical competencies health administrators need at a faster pace so graduates can hit the ground running.
