Socially Central Leaders Drive Deeper Team Alignment
Contrary to popular belief, the loudest people in the room aren’t the most effective at building team consensus. New neuroscience research by MHA faculty Co-Director, Adam Kleinbaum, reveals that true alignment is created by network-central connectors: the people who bridge subgroups, invite participation, and are as open to being influenced as they are to influencing others. Brain scans show that these individuals create genuine cognitive alignment, whereas people who dominate discussions generate only surface-level compliance.
